What is Analysis?
Analysis is one of the methods we use to understand something in depth. We can analyze the environment we are in, the objects around us, the thoughts that swirl around in our minds, the emotions that call to us from our hearts. We analyze the things that interest us in daily life. The behavior of a person we like or an electronic device that interests us. One of the points where we resort to analysis is in troubled situations. Most problems can only be solved by analyzing them well. For example, a cabinet door that keeps falling or a television that breaks down.
So how does analysis work?
When our mind resorts to analysis, it sees the phenomenon as a whole made up of parts. It breaks this whole into reasonable parts. For example, when we analyze the behavior of a person we like, we first break it down into parts: the way he talks, walks, sits, stands. Then we look at the characteristics of each part: We notice that he speaks too fast and becomes quiet when he is nervous, that he sits up straight when he is being sensitive. Then we examine the relationships between the parts. We examine the sequence of behaviors and how they change according to circumstances. This mental gymnastics leads us to information that no one else is aware of.
For some people, analysis is exhausting, for others it is an essential part of life. For some people, analysis is a disease from which they cannot rid their minds, for others it is the greatest talent behind their success.
